A retired Marine officer managed to sink three holes-in-one during a recent amateur golf tournament held in Lorton, Virginia.

Patrick Wills, 59, shot a 14-under-par for a round of 57 on while competing in Laurel Hill Golf Club’s Solstice tournament June 22, Yahoo Sports reported Sunday.

The veteran carded a 68 in the first round and a 66 in the last round to win the tournament with the final score of 191, GolfStyles online reported.

“I was shocked. Patrick has been around a long time, he is an honorable man and well-respected,” said Laurel Hill PGA Director Gene Orrico, BBC Sport reported Sunday. Mr. Orrico verified the score.

Mr. Willis, a plus-4 handicap, played the course with his two sons and Air Force Maj. Matt Ghormley. He said he isn’t worried about people who think his score is a lie.

“People are allowed to believe what they want to believe — I fought for that freedom. But I know what I shot, my playing partners know what I shot, and the people at the tournament do as well,” he said, Yahoo Sports reported.
