What’s in a name? Not much, even if you’re last name is Bush or Clinton.
While Democratic presidential candidate Martin O’Malley says the presidency isn’t a crown to passed between two families, Iowa voters don’t seem to care much if the next president has the same name as a former one — or if he or she consults with Presidents No. 43 or 42.
Nearly 6 in 10 (57 percent) of Republican caucus-goers in Iowa think it would be “mostly good” if Jeb Bush, brother of George W. Bush, were elected and used his brother as a “close adviser,” according to a Bloomberg Politics/Des Moines Register poll. Just 33 percent said it would be “mostly bad.”
For Hillary Clinton, the numbers were even better. Eight in 10 (83 percent) said they’d have no problem with Hillary getting advice from Bill, while just 9 percent thought that idea was “mostly bad.”
