Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina says Hillary Rodham Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign is so closed off to the world that it would be easier for people to get in touch with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.
Fresh of announcing his bid for the GOP presidential nomination, Mr. Graham told the New Hampshire Union Leader that Mrs. Clinton, the clear front-runner for the Democratic nomination, is “making a fatal mistake of trying to insulate herself.”
“There’s more spontaneity in North Korea than there is with her campaign,” Mr. Graham said.
“I mean it’s easier to talk to Kim Jong-un than it is to her,” he said. “At the end of the day, you’re not going to be president of the United States with this model.”
Mrs. Clinton has come under fire for avoiding the press and taking an overly cautious approach in the early going of the 2016 race.
“Here’s my advice: Hillary, get out where the people are,” Mr. Graham said. “Take all questions. Show people you’re tough. Show people you can handle any question.”
