It must be good to be Hillary Rodham Clinton. She may never become president. Her polling numbers may be tanking but at least she doesn’t have to worry about the American justice system coming after her.
Within the last week, the Department of Justice announced indictments of FIFA officials in international soccer. There are more birdwatchers in America than there are international soccer fans. The indictments barely touch on American jurisdiction but the Attorney General proudly announced them. At the same week, Americans learned that the Department of Justice is very concerned about movie theaters and how they end up in certain neighborhoods. Hasn’t anyone told them that on-demand cable is killing movie theaters?
Meanwhile, The Washington Times is reporting that Sweden contributed $26 million to the Clinton Foundation, at the same time Sweden was trying to avoid American sanctions for trading with Iran. During that time, the Secretary of State who would ultimately make the decision on sanctions was Hillary Clinton.
Anyone who has been following the Clintons knows the old adage from the Watergate figure “Deep Throat”: “Follow the money. When people follow the Clinton cash, a disturbing picture emerges.
Hillary Clinton in 2008 opposed a free trade deal with Colombia. By 2010, a Canadian businessman who would benefit from the deal contributed millions to the Clinton Foundation. Suddenly, Mrs. Clinton was a cheerleader for the deal.
While the Clinton Foundation was distributing cash to Haiti to help recovery efforts from the Haitian earthquake, miraculously the company on whose board Mrs. Clinton’s brother sat was suddenly given a gold exploitation permit. This permit was one of only two given out in the last 50 years.
The Clinton Foundation received millions of dollars from foreign companies and governments while Mrs. Clinton was Secretary of State. Many times, she appears to have taken favorable actions for those donors after donations were made.
It is long past the time someone asked the question, “What did Hillary know and when did she know it?”
The evidence that foreign governments and companies may have bribed Hillary Clinton is well beyond the stage of suspicion or even probable cause. The question is why isn’t a federal grand jury being empanelled to look into this?
The lack of action is a damning indictment of the Obama Regime as well. No one cares about FIFA soccer. It has no impact in America, yet the Obama Justice Department decided it needed to indict several leaders of that group. The Obama Justice Department has still not interviewed any of the members of Tea Party groups that were abused by Lois Lerner and the FBI.
Despite the substantial evidence that bribes were offered and accepted by a former American president for the benefit of himself and his wife who was the sitting Secretary of State, the Justice Department is more interested in the locations of movie theaters.
Perhaps because an election year is approaching, one of the Republican-controlled committees in either the House of Representatives or the Senate will have the courage to start issuing subpoenas.
Then, the first question that investigators should ask is, “What did Hillary know and when did she know it?”
