New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie launched his presidential campaign website on Saturday, three days ahead of his formal 2016 kickoff on Tuesday.
Mr. Christie unveiled the website and his campaign slogan “Telling It Like It Is” in a tweet Saturday morning.
The slogan, which appears on the website, is a nod to the Republican’s reputation for blunt talk in a blue state. A disclaimer on the website says: “Paid for by Chris Christie for President, Inc.”
Mr. Christie is expected to formally enter the 2016 race at a “special announcement event” at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Livingston High School in his hometown, his campaign said Saturday in a statement.
He will travel to New Hampshire after the announcement to hold a town-hall-style meeting in Sandown, the statement said.
Mr. Christie will become the 14th candidate to join the GOP primary race. He spent months traveling to early-voting states and made several international trips, billed as trade voyages, to beef up his foreign relations profile.
He also traveled extensively during his time as chairman of the Republican Governors Association, helping raise funds for the GOP following his decision not to join the presidential race in 2012.
