Chuck Norris says a better response to the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church massacre than new gun-control measures would be churches that broadcast support of the Second Amendment.

The famous actor said in an op-ed for WND that the recent church shooting in South Carolina that killed nine reminded him of Jesus telling his disciples “But now if you have a purse, take it, and also a bag; and if you don’t have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one (Luke 22:36).”

Mr. Norris then mentioned that at his Texas ranch he has an engraved picture of a gun with the word’s, “We don’t call 9-1-1,” next to it.

“Maybe it’s time a few churches put that sign on their doors, too,” the actor said, WND reported.

Mr. Norris also criticized President Obama’s call to reignite a national gun control debate shortly after suspect Dylann Roof, 21, was arrested June 18.

“When will Obama and other progressives learn that increasing government gun control and legislation won’t keep them out of the hands of bad guys? They will further disarm honest, good Americans who need that protection against murderous thugs like the parasite who walked into the Emmanuel AME Church,” Mr. Norris said, WND reported.
