Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Rodham Clinton will call for racial harmony and make a campaign stop Tuesday near Ferguson, Missouri, where black teenager Michael Brown was shot and killed by a white police officer last summer, setting off protests and a national debate about police race relations.

Mrs. Clinton pushed race to the forefront of her campaign after the nine people were shot dead last week at a historic black church in Charleston, South Carolina.

The former secretary of state will participate in a community meeting at Christ the King United Church of Christ in Florissant, Missouri, set up to address the massacre in Charleston and broader issues around strengthening communities, according to the Clinton campaign.

“If we are going to re-stitch the fraying fabric of our communities, all Americans are going to have to step up,” Mrs. Clinton said Saturday in a speech to the U.S. Conference of Mayors in San Francisco.

Florissant is part of the St. Louis suburbs, not far from where Mr. Brown, 18, was shot by a Ferguson police officer.
