Comedian Bill Maher told politically correct “idiots” on Friday that they shouldn’t be lecturing Jerry Seinfeld, Chris Rock, and Larry the Cable Guy on comedy.
The HBO “Real Time” host noted how all three successful comedians have recently lamented a “new brand of censorship” adopted by American culture.
“You know, when Chris Rock, Jerry Seinfeld, and Larry the Cable Guy say you have a stick up your [expletive], you don’t have to wait for the X-rays to come back. That’s right, a black, a Jew and a redneck all walk onto a college campus and they all can’t wait to leave.”
Mr. Maher then criticized a recent Huffington Post article titled “An Open Letter to Jerry Seinfeld from a ’politically correct’ College Student.”
“I sure wouldn’t want to be judged by what I wrote at 20. Stupid as I was in 1976, I wouldn’t have presumed to lecture George Carlin on comedy. […] Dear you little [expletive], I’m sure you’re busy with your new letter explaining astrophysics to Stephen Hawking and giving jump shot pointers to Steph Curry, but try to get a clue,” Mr. Maher said. “The PC police aren’t saying you can’t make jokes. You just can’t make them about protected species.”
