The U.S. Navy released video on Monday of a Russian Su-24 streaking by the guided-missile destroyer USS Ross in the Black Sea.

“Ross continued on her mission after observing the aircraft return to base. At no time did Ross act aggressively nor did she deviate from her planned operations. The conduct of her crew has been and continues to be professional. Ross’ Sailors observed that the Su-24 carried no weapons — wings were ’clean,’ ” the U.S. Navy said in a statement released Monday.

The U.S. Navy said it released the video to disprove Russian claims that the May 30 encounter between the two forces was routine in nature.

The Su-24 flew roughly 1,600 feet from the side of the USS Ross at an altitude of 600 feet, CNN reported Monday.
