Another Kenyan suitor has upped the bid to marry the Obamas’ daughter Malia, offering 500 cows as a dowry — 10 times what lawyer Felix Matagei offered last month.
“She is very beautiful, nice and cute,” Jeff ole Kishau told the Kenyan news site The Star. “I am not able to sleep at night, I love Malia Obama very much. I do not know good English but I know that I love her.”
Kishau also said he would hand over the profits from the sale of his lands to President Obama — if he is given his phone number.
Matagei had offered 70 sheep, 50 cows and 30 goats to marry Malia and fulfill his “dream of marrying Malia.”
“I have never fallen in love with any minor, I only like the first family. My Kalenjin customary law is consistent with justice and morality,” he said on his Facebook page last Thursday evening, the Star said.
But Kishau has gone further: He has named the Maasai Elders he would appoint to represent him in the marriage negotiations. Under cultural norms, the Maasai can’t talk directly with a love interest and name elders to handle talks for her hand in marriage.
“I am old enough to have babies but she will know my age once we get married. I will give the family 500 cows and sell all my Maasai lands just to win her,” he said. “I will be the happiest man in the world if the most powerful man in the world becomes my father-in-law.”
