Jerry Seinfeld expanded on his recent lamentations about political correctness by telling Seth Meyers he can’t tell jokes that feature fictional gay Frenchmen.

Mr. Seinfeld told the “Late Night with Seth Meyers” host on Tuesday that he could recently “feel” the negative opinion of a crowd when he likened the way people scroll through cell phone pictures to a gay French king.

“They thought, ’What do you mean, gay? What are talking about, gay? What are you saying, gay? What are you doing? What do you mean? I thought, ’Are you kidding me?’ ” the comedian said, Mediaite reported. “I can imagine a time, and this is a serious thing, I can imagine a time where people say, ’Well, that’s offensive to suggest that a gay person moves their hands in a flourishing motion, and you now need to apologize.’ There’s a creepy PC thing out there that really bothers me.”

The famous comedian made similar comments while appearing on ESPN Radio’s “The Herd with Colin Cowherd.” He told the host, “I don’t play colleges, but I hear a lot of people tell me, ’Don’t go near colleges, they’re so PC,’ ” and then detailed how the culture has also affected his own daughter.

“My daughter’s 14. My wife says to her, ’Well, you know, in the next couple of years, I think maybe you’re going to want to hang around the city more on the weekends so you can see boys.’ You know, my daughter says, ’That’s sexist.’ They just want to use these words. ’That’s racist. That’s sexist. That’s prejudice.’ They don’t even know what they’re talking about,” Mr. Seinfeld said.
