THOMASVILLE, Ga. (AP) - A 10-year-old girl from Pelham who has a rare joint and muscle disorder will represent Georgia in a national pageant for girls with disabilities.

WALB-TV (https://bit.ly/1QKBLNH) reported Tuesday that Sadie Parrish will represent Georgia at the 2015 Miss Amazing Pageant in Los Angeles in July. She won the Georgia Miss Amazing Pageant preteen title in May.

Parrish has a condition called arthrogryposis, which prevented the muscles in her legs from developing properly.

Doctors discovered it when Sadie was just three days old and did not expect her to be able to walk. But Sadie has proved doctors wrong and can walk with the help of a walker.

Sadie’s family has set up a GoFundMe site to sponsor her trip to Los Angeles.

Pelham is about 215 miles south of Atlanta.
