Dan Pfeiffer, a longtime top adviser to President Obama, is joining CNN as a contributor, becoming the second key White House aide to work for the network in the past year.
CNN President Jeff Zucker made the announcement Monday. Mr. Pfeiffer, 39, left the White House in March after serving Mr. Obama in a variety of roles since the 2007 presidential campaign.
In September, former Obama press secretary Jay Carney took a job at CNN as a contributing analyst. He left the network in February to take a job with Amazon.
A graduate of Georgetown University, Mr. Pfeiffer held the post of senior presidential adviser when he left the White House. He is a native of Wilmington, Delaware.
Mr. Pfeiffer served as White House communications director during Mr. Obama’s first term before being promoted to senior adviser.
