The interleague series opener between the Toronto Blue Jays and Washington Nationals on Monday has been postponed due to rain.
The teams will play a split-doubleheader on Tuesday with the opener at 1:05 p.m.
The National League East-leading Nationals went 18-9 in May, but finished the month with three consecutive road losses against the Cincinnati Reds in part because of bullpen woes.
The Blue Jays enter the three-game series having lost their last two games.
Monday’s scheduled starters, Jordan Zimmermann and R.A. Dickey, will pitch the opener on Tuesday, while Max Scherzer will oppose Marco Estrada in the evening.
