Russian President Vladimir Putin said Wednesday that the Kremlin would work together with China to “overcome all the problems before us.”
Mr. Putin made the comments while welcoming Chinese President Xi Jinping to Russia for summits in Ufa.
“Combining efforts, no doubt we will overcome all the problems before us. … Naturally, the situation in the eurozone will be discussed, the trigger for which is the problem of Greek debt, because the development of the situation in the eurozone creates risks for all the participants in BRICS [trade group],” Mr. Putin said, The Associated Press reported.
In addition to discussing issues related to BRICS — an acronym for Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa — the two world leaders are also scheduled cover the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
The organization includes the former Soviet Central Asian republics of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
The two-day summit officially begins Thursday, AP reported.
