A blogger from New York hacked into a “Confederate Pride” Facebook group and turned its landing page into a pro-Israel, pro-LGBT, pro-Michelle Obama shrine on Wednesday.
Virgil Texas turned “Confederate Pride” into “LGBT Southerners for Michelle Obama and Judaism” and left a trail of digital destruction that would render the group inoperable for the foreseeable future.
“Good morning. I have convinced the racist Facebook group to make me an admin to clean out all the trolls. What should I do with my powers?” Mr. Texas wrote, The Telegraph reported Thursday. “I’ve settled on turning the group into LGBT Southerners for Michelle Obama and Judaism. Wish me luck.”
The move caused confusion with its roughly 3,000 members, and Mr. Texas was eventually removed as an administrator. Before he was exited from the group, however, he gave administrator rights to dozens of other individuals.
“Somebody also changed the Facebook URL to /groups/JewsForObamaAndHillary/, which can’t be changed back for at least 6 months,” the blogger wrote, The Telegraph reported. “This has been my favorite day online since the day we screwed with that Republican printer.”
The page is now closed to the public.
