Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan remained upbeat as he passed a milestone in his battle with cancer — the loss of his hair.
“It looks like there is another white dome in the Annapolis State House!” he joked Tuesday in a Facebook post accompanied by a photo of the bald governor smiling broadly outside his office.
Mr. Hogan announced in June that he had been diagnosed with Stage 3 non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma and would undergo chemotherapy. Last week, the Republican governor finished up his second five-day round of treatment.
“The first lady says I’m still sexy. I may be losing hair follicles, but I’m winning the battle as we kill cancer cells like crazy. So yes — the new look is a bit of a shock at first, but to me, bald is beautiful!” he wrote.
Mr. Hogan, who took office in January, said at the outset of his diagnosis that his cancer treatments may cause him to miss a few meetings, but that he would not require significant time away from the job. Over the weekend, he added to the job responsibilities, accepting the position as chairman of the National Governors Association’s Economic Development and Commerce Committee.
