Following widespread criticism after two video clips revealed Planned Parenthood is in the business of selling the organs of aborted fetuses, the organization tweeted an encouraging message to its followers using animation from the new Universal Pictures movie, “Minions.”

“Friends who #StandWithPP: Stay Strong. The anti-abortion minions want to bully us into silence. That’s not going to happen,” the organization tweeted Friday, with and image of one of the lovable yellow “minions” dropping a microphone.

So far the tweet has gained 150 retweets and nearly that many favorites, but has also earned numerous negative responses across social media.

“The irony of Planned Igorhood posting a clip from a children’s movie! I guess dead conscience is a dead conscience,” one user responded.

The Tweet also gained the attention of Bristol Palin, the daughter of former Alaska Gov. and GOP vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin.

In a blog post on Friday, Ms. Palin blasted Planned Parenthood asking, “How ironic is it that Planned Parenthood is using a gif of a minion to attack their critics?

“Can you imagine the folks over at Planned Parenthood, wondering how on earth they can spin themselves out of this mess? I know! Let’s use cute minions to distract people from the fact that we got caught selling dead baby parts!” Ms. Palin wrote.

She added that it was more fitting to called the organization and its supporters the “minions of the extreme left because they follow the orders and talking points of those who value sexual freedom more than innocent life.”

Ms. Palin, who is currently pregnant with her second child, then went on to question Universal Pictures about the tweet.

“By the way, Universal Pictures, how do you feel about Planned Parenthood co-opting your cute little yellow creatures to defend harvesting and selling of dead baby parts?” she asked.

“I bet those children that never got to draw a breath would’ve really loved the chance to see the Minions movie,” Ms. Palin added.
