A super PAC supporting the presidential candidacy of Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker says it’s raised more than $20 million from nearly 300 donors in its first quarter of operations.
“Governor Walker’s record of fighting for and winning conservative reforms is translating into tremendous grassroots and financial support from across the country,” said Keith Gilkes, the director of Unintimidated PAC. “Even before Governor Walker officially became a candidate, enthusiasm for his bold record and for winning big fights was palpable and empowered us to raise a significant sum that is securely within the top-tier of independent organizations this election cycle.”
The group said it’s the third-largest haul this quarter for a super PAC supporting a Republican candidate. Mr. Walker entered the 2016 race earlier this month.
Right to Rise USA, the group backing former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, said it raised more than $103 million from Jan. 6 to June 30, and a group of super PACs supporting Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas has raised about $37 million.
“We are well positioned to tell Governor Walker’s story of being unintimidated by special interests and Washington’s government-knows-best mentality — proving that big, bold ideas can win,” Mr. Gilkes said.
