BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) — Most of Alabama will be under a heat advisory as temperatures are expected soar to some of the highest marks so far this year.
The National Weather Service issued heat advisories for Monday that stretch from the northern Alabama state line all the way to the Alabama coast.
Some of the state’s hottest temperatures are expected in the Tuscaloosa area, where forecasters are predicting a high of around 100 degrees.
In northern Alabama, forecasters are projecting high temperatures ranging from 95 to 99 degrees, with heat index values of up to 110 degrees.
In the Birmingham area, highs were expected to climb well into the mid-90s on Monday.
Highs in southwest Alabama are expected to reach the upper 90s, with heat index values approaching 110 degrees.
