North Korea wants all 535 members of U.S. Congress and the Obama administration’s “imbecile secretaries and deputy secretaries” to come visit a pesticide plant.

Kim Jong-un’s regime released the statement in response to fears by a U.S. weapons experts that the Pyongyang Bio-technical Institute could be used to produce biological weapons.

“A thousand pairs of ears cannot match a pair of eyes,” said a spokesman for North Korea’s National Defense Commission, The Telegraph reported Wednesday. “Come here right now, with all the 535 members of the House of Representatives and the Senate as well as the imbecile secretaries and deputy secretaries of the government who have made their voices hoarse screaming for new sanctions. Then they can behold the awe-inspiring sight of the Pyongyang Bio-technical Institute.”

The diplomatic outburst came just days after Melissa Hanham, a senior research associate at the James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies, wrote that totalitarian regimes often claim they are making pesticides when they are making both pesticides and biological weapons.

Ms. Hanham’s analysis was published in a report by the U.S.-Korea Institute at Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies, The Telegraph reported.

North Korea is prohibited from making developing biological weapons due to its obligations under the Biological Weapons Convention, the newspaper reported.
