Jimmy Carter, widely regarded as one of America’s worst presidents ever, says Bernie Sanders has “inherited the mantle” of liberal heartthrob Elizabeth Warren.

“I really think that, more inherently, Bernie Sander and Elizabeth Warren, the senator, was in the forefront of saying inequality and doing away with discrimination economically, constraining Wall Street and doing away with the domination of that rich people now have over the political system.”

The former peanut farmer who oversaw an American with 20 percent interest rates and a disastrous fuel shortage also said Sanders “speaks more for the liberal and the active wing of the Democratic Party. … I think he’s been a lot bolder in the promulgation of his ideas than has Hillary Clinton.”
