Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker is joining a number of other potential 2016 presidential contenders at GOP Rep. Steve King’s inaugural Iowa Freedom Summit on Jan. 24, the Des Moines Register reported.

Other conservative figures and potential 2016 players scheduled to attend are Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, former Sen. Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania and outgoing Texas Gov. Rick Perry.

In another nod to a possible presidential run, CNN reported this week that Mr. Walker has brought on political operative Rick Wiley, a former political director for the Republican National Committee, to help build an operation ahead of a potential run in 2016.
