The two Charlie Hebdo terror suspects are surrounded by Paris-area SWAT members at a massive printing company complex in the town of Dammartin-en-goele, and a hostage rescue situation is reportedly underway.
Fox News reported that the roads by the complex, CTD Printing, are blocked and schools locked down. At least one sniper is in place across the street from the complex, Fox News said.
The suspects, Cherif Kouachi and his older brother, Said Kouachi, were reported to have told authorities that they want to “die as martyrs,” said Fox News, citing local media.
The BBC reported that shots have been fired, and several people are believed to be wounded. SWAT teams are on the ground, trying to secure the release of the hostage — or hostages. The one known hostage is believed to be a man, Fox News reported.
Authorities have been searching for the suspects since they fled the scene of the Paris newspaper terrorist attack that killed 12. A third suspect, 18, has already turned himself in to authorities.
