French authorities have mobilized over 88,000 personnel in the manhunt for the suspected perpetrators of the Charlie Hebdo terrorist attack Wednesday that left 12 people dead.
The search party for brothers Said and Cherif Kouachi is comprised of 50,000 police employees alone, along with 1,150 military personnel, Business Insider reported Thursday.
Officials said Thursday that nine people close to the two suspects have been detained and 90 have been questioned, AP reported. The two brothers are considered armed and dangerous.
The stepbrother of the two men, Hamyd Mourad, surrendered to authorities Wednesday.
“France has been struck directly in the heart of its capital, in a place where the spirit of liberty — and thus of resistance — breathed freely,” French President Francois Hollande said, AP reported.
