New York Times bestselling author Brad Thor had two words in response to radical Islamic cleric Anjem Choudary’s Paris terror attack tweets: “Up yours!”

Gunmen shouting “Allahu akbar!” killed 12 people on Wednesday, including the newspaper’s editor, over its depiction of Islam over the years.

After the British cleric tweeted “Freedom of expression does not extend to insulting the Prophets of Allah, whatever your views on the events in Paris today!” Mr. Thor sent a response with an image from the satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo attached.

In another exchange, Mr. Choudary tweeted “If freedom of expression can be sacrificed for criminalising [sic] incitement & hatred, Why not for insulting the Prophet of Allah?”

Mr. Thor’s response: “Contrary to this moronic Tweet by @anjemchoudary - freedom of expression DOES include the right to offend people.”

Paris officials identified three men, including two brothers, as suspects in the terrorist attack late Wednesday. A police official said that they had links to a Yemini terror organization, The Associated Press reported.
