There goes the White House again, stoking the flames of racial hatred. This time it’s saying that the post for the selection of the new House whip, Rep. Steve Scalise of Louisiana, defines the GOP (“Democrats try, fail to burn Steve Scalise,” Web, Jan. 5). Yet it is President Obama and his cronies Al Sharpton and Eric Holder who stir up racial division.

What hypocrites they all are. Did the Democratic Party deny the late Sen. Harry Byrd the posts of Senate majority whip, Senate majority leader, secretary of the Senate Democratic Caucus or president pro tempore of the Senate because he had been a Grand Cyclops of the Ku Klux Klan? Did they call Sen. Al Gore Sr. and all the other Democrats out for having voted against the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which was passed by the GOP in Congress with not one Democrat’s vote? Of course not, because that is who they are.

There is definitely a double standard in the Obama administration and it is outrageous that the hate speech comes from the president and the highest offices of the land. They are the ones responsible for sowing the seeds of unrest in America. After all, if you repeat a lie long enough people will begin to believe it. The tactic of the political left is to attempt to cover up its past of racism by trying to transfer it to the GOP. Unfortunately there are many who believe the lies.
