Izzat Risheq, a senior Hamas official, denied reports that his organization’s chief, Khaled Meshaal, has been booted from Qatar.

Sources close to the terror group told CNN on Monday that Mr. Meshaal — along with several members of the Muslim Brotherhood — had been expelled from Qatar. The source also said that Mr. Meshaal and the Muslim Brotherhood members were likely going to Turkey.

On Tuesday, Mr. Risheq denied that claim, CNN said.

Qatar hasn’t commented, but in general, the nation is seen as supporting the Muslim Brotherhood — of which Hamas is an extension, CNN reported. Egypt, on the other hand, ordered the Islamist group out of its country in 2013.
