WASHINGTON (AP) - Yuta Watanabe blocked Mike Crawford’s corner 3-point attempt at the buzzer to preserve George Washington’s 75-72 victory over Saint Louis on Tuesday night.

George Washington trailed by as many as 12 points early in the second half but took a 52-49 lead after a 13-0 run, highlighted by two Watanabe 3-pointers.

Patricio Garino scored a team-high 18 points, including six of the Colonials’ final 13 points. Kevin Larsen added 16 points for George Washington (12-3, 2-0 Atlantic 10), Kethan Savage 12, Joe McDonald 11 and Watanabe 10.

Freshman Milik Yarbrough scored a season-high 26 points for Saint Louis (8-7, 0-2) and fellow freshman Davell Roby fouled out with 6:53 left and had a season-best 14 points.

An 11-0 run gave Saint Louis a 24-16 lead in the first half and the Billikens held 40-32 advantage at halftime after hitting 16 of 27 shots (59.3 percent).
