Eliza Delacruz, the 3-week-old baby who went missing after her parents were shot and wounded at a home in Long Beach, California, has been found dead.

Police are searching for a suspect, after finding the newborn in a dumpster near a strip mall on Imperial Beach, The Associated Press reported.

“The suspect who committed these horrific crimes” is still at-large, Long Beach police said in a statement, AP reported.

Police responded to the parents’ home over the weekend after receiving a call about a shooting. They found two brothers — one of whom was the baby’s father — and the mother injured. The baby was missing and police launched a widespread search.

The San Diego County Coroner’s Office confirmed the remains of the body in the dumpster were those of the baby’s, AP said.
