The New England Patriots took a field trip to see “American Sniper” on Wednesday after the film’s director, Clint Eastwood, contacted head coach Bill Belichick.
The Patriots attended a private screening of the film after practice, the Boston Herald reported Wednesday.
The movie, starring Bradley Cooper, tells the true story of U.S. Navy SEAL Chris Kyle, who served four tours in Iraq.
Mr. Belichick took the Patriots to a similar screening of director Peter Berg’s 2013 film “Lone Survivor” last December. The story of Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrell’s attempt to survive a 2005 reconnaissance mission gone wrong with SEAL Team 10 pulled in over $125 million in domestic box office sales.
