The New Hampshire Republican party is planning to host a summit in mid-April certain to attract potential GOP presidential contenders looking to increase their visibility in the early presidential primary state.

The #FITN (First in the Nation) Republican Leadership Summit, first reported by Primary Digest, is scheduled to take place April 17-18 at the Crowne Plaza hotel in Nashua.

Jennifer Horn, chairwoman of the state party, told The Washington Post they expect more than 600 Republican activists and that several potential candidates have already committed to attend.

A host of prospective candidates made their pitches to activists over the weekend in Iowa, home of the first-in-the-nation caucuses, at GOP Rep. Steve King’s summit, an unofficial kick-off to the 2016 primary season.
