Senate Armed Services Committee Chairman John McCain got fed up with anti-war protesters during a hearing on Thursday, telling them to “get out of here, you low-life scum.”

As the hearing started, several protesters approached the table holding signs and shouting at 91-year-old Henry Kissinger, who was on hand for a hearing on global security challenges, CNN reported.

“I’ve been a member of this committee for many years, and I have never seen anything as disgraceful and outrageous and despicable as the last demonstration that just took place,” said Mr. McCain before being interrupted.

“You know, you’re going to have to shut up, or I’m going have you arrested,” the Arizona Republican said, summoning Capitol Hill police, CNN reported.

“Get out of here, you low-life scum,” Mr. McCain said.

Later in the hearing, Mr. Kissinger was interrupted by two female protesters who shouted that he “oversaw the slaughter in Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos, which led to the deaths of millions of people,” CNN reported.
