Mitt Romney has found a new fan in House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi who put forth in a recent — somewhat snarky — remark that there is nobody she would like to see the Republican Party run for president than the former Massachusetts governor.
Her response, when asked if Mr. Romney could beat a Hillary Clinton candidacy in 2016, The Hill reported: “No, no. I mean, he might be a nice person — no offense, no offense — [but] let’s save you time. Let me put it this way — I hope he’s their nominee.”
Mr. Romney failed at two earlier runs for the presidency, in the 2008 primaries and than again in the 2012 election against President Obama. He’s come forward in recent days and said that he’s seriously mulling a third try — much to the dismay of many in the more tea party-type circles of the party.
Mrs. Pelosi, meanwhile, said that Mrs. Clinton, the former secretary of state and first lady, “will win the nomination” if she chooses to seek the high office, The Hill reported.
