Hundreds of pastors met up in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to discuss how best to turn back the moral degradation of America — by electing their own to political office.
The leaders gathered at the Baton Rouge River Center’s Issachar Training Event for an American Renewal Project event aimed at identifying and equipping 1,000 pastors around the nation to seek public office in 2016, The Blaze reported.
“I’m a political operative,” said American Renewal Project founder David Lane, during a recent interview with CBN. “I saw that the skills as a successful politician are the skills of a successful pastor. The skill set is about the same.”
So, he thought, why not train the pastors for a career switch to politics — and in so doing, help save the nation?
“Somebody’s values are going to reign supreme,” Mr. Lane said, The Blaze reported. “Our values or somebody else’s values. It’s our goal to bring spiritual men and women into the civil government arena.”
The event taught attendees how to run for office, how to run campaigns and how to shape their message points.
