Donald Trump, millionaire businessman and “Fox & Friends” regular contributor, is a “bane of humanity” for constantly teasing the American public at a run for the presidency, said Jonah Goldberg, a fellow Fox News analyst and National Review columnist.

“Donald Trump has a long record of clownishly pretending he’s going to run for president, and people take him seriously — including a lot of people at this network, which drives me crazy,” Mr. Goldberg said during an interview on Fox’s “Media Buzz” with Howard Kurtz.

Mr. Goldberg made the comments when another guest compared former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin to Mr. Trump in terms of their like-minded quest for the public spotlight, Mediaite reported. Mr. Goldberg objected and said Mr. Trump simply sought attention for attention’s sake — unlike Mrs. Palin, who had a higher purpose, he said.

“I think Donald Trump is a bane of humanity … that’s not Sarah Palin’s game,” he said.

Both Mrs. Palin and Mr. Trump made appearances at the Iowa Freedom Summit over the weekend. There, Mr. Trump said he would have beaten President Obama if he had run for the high office in 2012.
