President Obama’s latest interview included sit-downs with three celebrities of YouTube — including one, GloZell Green, whose partial claim to fame is a video that shows her in a tub filled with cereal.
Howard Kurtz, Fox News’ media critic, called the interview “beneath the dignity of the office” of the presidency, while other members of the press expressed unhappiness with Mr. Obama’s seeming dodge of the tough questions they could fire in favor of a softball sit-down, question-answer session.
Mr. Kurtz also likened the YouTube interviews — which are the president’s first reach-out to the so-called press, post State of the Union — as a “D-list Hollywood after party,” Mediaite reported.
“Fox & Friends,” meanwhile, reported that GloZell previously made headlines by taking to a tub, filled with cereal, and preparing to eat.
The interview included the president meeting with Hank Green — who asked for an autograph at the end of the interview — and Bethany Mota, who spoke about Boko Haram. GloZell, meanwhile, donned her signature green lipstick and provided a tube for Mr. Obama to take home to his wife, Mediaite reported. The four then posed for a group selfie.
The Daily Caller also reported that Mr. Obama made this curious claim during his discussion: “The truth of the matter is, the reason we even have colleges is that at some point there were politicians who said, ’You know what? We should start colleges.’ “
The news outlet said he made the remark during the interview with Ms. Mota.
