New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady sought to provide some perspective on “Deflategate” by invoking the Islamic State group during a press conference on Thursday.

In response to the media frenzy around the deflated balls the Patriots used during the course of their blowout AFC Championship win over the Indianapolis Colts last Sunday, the NFL star referenced the Sunni radical terror group.

“We’re going to be fine. This isn’t ISIS,” the Pariot’s quarterback said, Business Insider reported Thursday. “You know, no one’s dying.”

The Islamic State group seeks to create an Islamic caliphate in the heart of the Middle East. It currently controls large swathes of Iraq and Syria.

Mr. Brady said that he did not alter any footballs used by his team and that he does not know how they became deflated.

The Patriots beat the Colt 45-7 last Sunday and will now play the Seattle Seahawks for the NFL title game on Feb. 1.
