The Rev. Al Sharpton — not normally known for his support of conservatives and their causes — made an exception for Ted Cruz and his well-reported State of the Union speech slip-up, telling the Texas senator not to worry, that “it happens,” he said.

Perhaps it’s because Mr. Sharpton has frequent teleprompter lapses during his own MSNBC televised remarks, Mediaite reported.

Regardless, Mr. Sharpton said: “Don’t worry, senator, trust me, it happens. We all know I’ve had my share of teleprompter issues.”

Mr. Cruz attempted to record some off-the-cuff responses to President Obama’s State of the Union address, but stopped halfway through and asked for a redo. The version that contained his statement, “meh, lemme start over” was scrubbed from YouTube — but only after it made a media splash.
