The White House is facing backlash for a photo it sent out in remembrance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day that featured President Obama in a more prominent pose than critics thought proper.
The picture, tweeted by the White House, showed Mr. Obama’s night-time silhouette before King’s statue with the text: “’Today, we pay tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’ — President Obama: youtu.be/4OSs81RC04U #MartinLutherKingDay.”
But to some Twitter users, it looked as if Mr. Obama was just trying to grab some of the glory for himself.
Chris Keck tweeted, The Daily Caller reported: “@WhiteHouse me me me me me me meee and Dr. KING. But me me me me me … me!”
And another, JPeterman, wrote: “@WhiteHouse It’s always about the Big O!”
