New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is telling everyone to relax about 2016.

Mr. Christie said on New Jersey 101.5’s “Ask the Governor” program Thursday night that the possible candidacies of former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush and 2012 GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney aren’t factoring into his decision or timeline on a possible White House run.

“In fact, what I’ve told everybody — supporters of mine, potential donors of mine, staff — is relax,” he said. “No one’s voting for another 12 and a half months … so everybody just calm down, you know?”

Asked about recent reports that have said Mr. Christie is planning to set up a leadership PAC as he lays the groundwork for a possible presidential run, he said that “there’s lots of people making lots of suggestions to me about the best way for me to continue to get to know the country better … but I haven’t made any final decisions about what to do.”

Mr. Christie was scheduled to be in the early presidential state of Iowa Friday for the inauguration of Gov. Terry Branstad and is scheduled to be there again next week for GOP Rep. Steve King’s “Iowa Freedom Summit.”
