As potential 2016 GOP presidential candidates start the jockeying for staff and lay the groundwork for possible runs, 2012 GOP nominee Mitt Romney has tapped a former staffer for New Jersey Gov. Christie as a media liaison, CNN reported.

Colin Reed, who managed former Sen. Scott Brown’s U.S. Senate campaign in New Hampshire last year, is working for Mr. Romney on a “volunteer basis” after working on the former Massachusetts governor’s 2008 presidential campaign and in his press office.

Mr. Reed was also deputy communications director for a year for Mr. Christie, who figures to be one of Mr. Romney’s chief rivals if both men ultimately enter the race.
