The first step in a return to relevancy for the Washington Wizards was to have the local market take notice. Now, the national powers that be are starting to pay more attention.

The Wizards played on Christmas day this year for the first time since 2008. Their original schedule included 10 nationally televised games, but they have recently been bumped by the league into more significant time slots.

The NBA announced Tuesday that the March 29 game featuring the Houston Rockets in D.C. has been moved to ABC and will tipoff at 12:30 p.m. The same night the change was announced, the Wizards beat the world champion San Antonio Spurs on NBA TV’s “Fan night” game. Each week, NBA TV picks up a game based on fan demand. There are two options to choose from.

The Wizards are 25-12 and have the second-best record in the Eastern Conference heading into Wednesday’s schedule. The play in Chicago against the Bulls on Wednesday night.
