Rep. Randy Weber, Texas conservative, tweeted out a Hitler reference to President Obama as a means of slamming the White House on its failure to send any high-ranking head to Paris for the solidarity march against terrorism.
In a tweet, Mr. Weber wrote, Politico reported: “Even Adolph Hitler thought it more important than Obama to get to Paris. (For all the wrong reasons.) Obama couldn’t do it for right reasons.”
The message was retweeted hundreds of times. The reference was to Hitler’s brief stop in Paris after the fall of France to his Nazi forces in 1940.
White House press secretary Josh Earnest did tell reporters at a press conference on Monday that the administration did wish they had a do-over to send what he called a “higher-profile” official to the march.
