OPINION:
I hope no one is surprised that Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto so graciously offered to doctor the paperwork for millions of Mexican illegals to have the legal standing to enter the United States — without the approval of the U.S. government (“Mexican president offers Obama help with amnesty documents,” Web, Jan. 6).
Why should Mr. Pena be any different from previous Mexican presidents who failed miserably in providing a stable country for their people — despite the nation’s manpower and huge resources? It would have been easier for him to have just ceded all of Northern Mexico to the United States and President Obama. Americans need to understand that Mexico’s second-greatest source of revenue is through the illegal activities of Mexican nationals in the United States.
Mexico operates an ongoing criminal enterprise in human trafficking, with the seeming approval of the president of the United States. Historically, Mexico’s president has been an individual who has acted as a overlord, keeping his people in poverty. Unfortunately, I think many black Americans have been suckered the same way by our own current president. It is on the backs of many of these minority voters that the burden of Mr. Obama’s legacy will fall.
