World famous jeweler Tiffany & Co. is featuring a gay couple for the first time in a new ad campaign.
The campaign, shot by fashion photographer Peter Lindbergh, features seven scenes of different couples at various stages in their relationships, including a scene of a same-sex couple about to commit to a marriage, CNN reported Saturday.
The two men, shown sitting on a picturesque stoop in New York City, are a real couple, not models, a Tiffany spokesperson told CNN.
Another scene shows a couple getting married with a child at their side.
The campaign, called “Will You?” is meant to be a current depiction of modern love, creating scenes emphasizing that loves comes in many forms, the company said in a press release.
The images also represent the diversity of the customers who shop on a daily basis at Tiffany.
“All of these scenes have a unifying theme: they capture a moment in time when couples experience an intimate connection, an acknowledgment that yes, this person is the one, now and forever,” the press release stated, CNN reported.
“No other brand embodies the emotion and trust that Tiffany does for those who are committed to one another,” said Caroline Naggiar, chief marketing officer of Tiffany & Co. “People have always looked to Tiffany to commemorate the most precious and joyous moments in their lives.”
