Sen. Rand Paul, Kentucky Republican, is headed to Iowa this weekend for an “Audit the Fed” rally Friday evening followed by several events on Saturday — and he’s headed back to the Midwest later this month.
Mr. Paul is scheduled to speak at the Clermont County Republican Party’s Lincoln Reagan Day Dinner in Loveland, Ohio, on Feb. 17.
“Between now and then he may announce his run for presidency,” Republican Party Chairman and Clermont County Commissioner David Uible told the Clermont Sun. “So we’re excited to have him in Clermont County.”
With 2012 GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney out of the race, Mr. Paul took 10 percent of the vote in a hypothetical 2016 GOP match-up in the crucial swing state of Ohio, behind native son and Gov. John Kasich at 14 percent and Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker at 11 percent. Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush also got 10 percent in the Quinnipiac poll.
