Police arrested a Maryland man this week after he threatened to kill people at the U.S. Capitol, a local D.C. television station reported.
ABC7 said that the Cheverly, Maryland, man texted his wife that he would come to her workplace at the Capitol and kill her and her coworkers.
Law enforcement agents who took the man into custody said he was not armed at the time of the arrest, but is known to own an assault rifle, shotgun and handgun.
As of Thursday afternoon, police have not released the suspect’s identity, nor said whether the threat was a serious plan of attack against the Capitol or part of a domestic dispute.
