Fox News host Megyn Kelly told colleague Bill O’Reilly that vaccinations were a good thing — that her three children have all been vaccinated and that other parents ought to do the same for the safety of the nation.
She also said she has some measure of sympathy for parents who are fearful of vaccinating their children due to “bad information” about the risks of autism and other health issues, Mediaite reported. But, she added, “there is good information” and sound science that proves the shots are safe.
Ms. Kelly — who was speaking about vaccinations in the context of discussing the recent measles outbreak in the country — also suggested that the government was correct in mandating children obtain certain shots.
“This is going to be a big issue for politicians going forward, because it’s about Big Brother,” she said, Mediaite reported. “But on the other hand, some things do require some involvement of Big Brother.”
