Rachel Maddow, whose reputation as a conservative basher often precedes her, offered up kind words of praise for Fox News during a recent broadcast, saying the media outlet actually provides a good learning and working environment for journalists.

On top of that, she said Fox attracted “real talent,” Mediaite reported.

She made the comments while discussing Bill O’Reilly’s recent defense of his reporting record and said his so-called threats to journalists who were accusing him of fabrications were disturbing.

“It is untenable that Fox would stand by those [threats], if only because they employ a lot of journalists, including those who work in risky situations,” Ms. Maddow said, Mediaite reported. “And Fox is a good place to work for journalists, and part of the way they’re able to attract real talent, you know, real journalistic talent, especially on the straight news side, is because they’re willing to stand up for their reporters, just like any real news organization will.”
